Unwanted as a child, betrayed as a teen, Addison Cole returns to her hometown and is forced to confront her painful past. While facing yet another loss, she discovers that people can change. Perhaps, then, there’s hope for her yet.
When Addison Cole learns the harsh grandfather who raised her is dying, she must return to her rural Texas hometown, where there’s nowhere to hide. She faces the best friend who betrayed her with her high school boyfriend and competes with Pop’s ranch foreman and business manager who was like the son her Pop always wanted.
Confronted with old wounds, tempted by former flames, and forced to make a decision about the family estate, Addison pushes everyone who knows her into separate corners, except her interceding, no-nonsense neighbor who delivers truth to Addison as only her Mimi once could.
Addison’s heart softens when she discovers Mimi’s journals—hundreds of pages, filled with prayers for her and Pop. Embracing those hometown friends who have always loved her, Addison finds peace and freedom again. But when Pop’s house sells before Addison is ready to let go, she faces an important choice to forgive others—and to forgive herself.
